Light rain outside the window of Ashley and Natalie’s house.
Laying in bed halfway dressed.
Waiting on Julie to pick me up so we can get ready.
Jack is getting married!
Can’t wait to see everyone at the wedding!
I’m slightly sunburnt.
Stoked on taking pictures at the wedding.
Getting pulled in a million different directions trying to spend time with as many friends as possible down here.
Thinking about leaving Florida early to go somewhere else, anywhere really.
Sunday night around 1 am my friend Rob calls me and asks if I want to ride with him, Tanner, and Kyle down to Florida. They’re an hour away. 3 hours later we were all skating in Louisville, Kentucky under the lights and we stayed until the sun came up. Rob and I took turns driving and we made sure to stop through random cities to skate the whole way down. We got to Sarasota around 11 last night where I got out. Tanner and Kyle had to be in south Fort Myers and Rob had to go to Cape Coral. A spontaneous cross country road trip with 3 other dirty skateboarders couldn’t have come at a better time. I can’t wait to see everyone here and spend a lot of time at the beach. My friend Jack is getting married on Friday and I might cut my trip short right after that so I can spend a few nights in LA. Nothing is entirely planned and that’s the best part. All I care about right now is the warmth of the sun and the company of so many good friends.
I feel like I’m sitting over the edge of a cliff with my legs dangling off, but it’s not really a cliff at all. I’m drowning in the shallow end and my head is in the clouds but my feet are on the ground. I’ve got to be somewhat detached. My body tends to shut down for a few days every month no matter what kind of mood I’m in. The past week has been incredible and a beautiful girl has been right in the middle of it. I wasn’t expecting to feel this way at all. I met dozens of new people and some of my photos were used in an online publication. I went to a drag show and I spent 2 nights out dancing. I saw the best michael jackson impression I’ve ever seen. I cheered on Spain as they made their way to the world cup final. I shot off more fireworks than I ever have in my life. I’ve been smiling non-stop. I spent a fortune on a new lens and I’ll have it tomorrow! I got a very temporary tattoo. I got to hang out with my sister more than once! I’ve also been working every single day. Basically, this last week has been incredible. A lot of good things were set into motion and I hope grow into even bigger and better things.
